Old myths, old gods, old hereos have never died. They are only sleeping at the bottom of our mind, waiting for our call. -- Stanley Kunitz
In my installation work, I start with the idea that clothing or other personal artifacts describe us better than we know.
These descriptive things I then multiply and display together. The acts of resurrecting, painting on, or dressing them saves them from remaining the ordinary objects they are.
In this way I break the ennui of everyday stuff. Old devotions and old treasures become new again. |
